If you are learning to write fiction, you will most likely start with taking a course or reading books on fiction writing. What I have found is that this is not enough. It gives you a base and you will learn about the basics of story structure and overall process. These are two different things. What is your motivation to follow a certain style of writing and what unique element can you bring to the genre you are pursuing?
