The Night Of – Great Mini Series!

I just finished watching The Night Of mini series on HBO and was quite intrigued by it. It is a crime drama but what makes it unique and interesting is the way it is told! After we have seen many shows on crime, the nuances lie in acting and story-telling. This show grips you so strongly in the first episode that you have got to watch the rest!

While story-telling in The Night Of is at its best, the unique subtle way of acting is marvelous. There are no melodramatic scenes whatsoever and the characters are supremely well developed. My favorites are Naz and John Stone (the lawyer)!

And to top it all, the end is quite satisfying. Watch it for its uniqueness, it won’t let you down..

VEEP – a hilarious political satire!

Last week my husband introduced me to this hilarious political satire on HBO called VEEP and I caught on to it right away. I have been a fan of Julia Louis-Dreyfus since I watched Seinfeld and she is equally, if not more, hilarious in this show.

I believe it is not easy to create comedy in the setup of American Vice Presidential office but this show has been cast-ed as well as acted and written wonderfully. The language is a bit rough but the comedy is mind-blowing. Julia looks the part and plays the part awesomely. In fact, I miss her if she is not in a particular frame. I also think Jonah’s character is quite funny.

Overall, a great great show to watch if you are into comedy!

Switched at Birth – a great show!

I stumbled upon this show called ‘Switched at Birth‘ while browsing through my Netflix queue and I have to say I really like it! If you are into emotional family dramas, you will surely appreciate this one.

The mother-daughter relationships are absolute treat to watch in this show and the writers and characters have done a remarkable job of displaying all kinds of family emotions through this show. There were times when I needed a tissue.

I have only watched the first season so far, so hopefully the momentum will continue and the show gets even better…
